Oh yeah, Mario time!

Having a Mother and Son Game off, is so much fun. We enjoy having to work as a team, with various games and it definitely tests our patience, hand eye coordination and communication skills! Sometimes it’s my son teaching me how to play and which buttons to use, which is so amazing! And sometimes he enjoys battling against me, which is so cheeky! But we have a laugh and it gives us time to be in one another's company, in a different kind of setting.

Here are some of our favourite Mummy and Son games, that we play via Nintendo Switch or the Xbox.

Super Mario 3D World

It's a me-Mario!

We love to play The Super Mario 3D World! My son loves to be Mario or Luigi, so that gives me Princess Peach! It is such an amazing game, which consists of various creative levels and can have up to four players offline, whilst joining many online. The game requires patience, concentration, teamwork but most of all, enjoyment. It gives you the time to forget about the outside world and indulge into the life of Super Mario and his friends.

The game has power-ups, with the trademark suit being the Cat power-up, which allows us to kitty-cat attack our enemies, climb up walls, and leap while midair. Who said being a cat, isn’t fun!

From collecting coins and stamps, to rescuing and conquering quests, this game is definitely one for the family.

So power up and lets go!

You can order the game from Argos, from £39.99!

Mario Kart

Welcome to Mario Kart!

Who said you need lessons, to drive in Mario Kart?

There are a range of characters and vehicles in which we can choose from, to compete in the races (which comes with different courses) from the Mario Kart Stadium, to the Water Park, to the Sweet Sweet Canyon and more!

My son doesn’t like losing, so what I do, is to try to encourage him to get in 1st place and then I try to stay in 2nd place, so I can block the other players from overtaking him. It doesn’t always work, but we do our best and although there’s some frustration from the power-ups (especially those green, red and blue shells!) we race with all our heart and will power. We race together, moan together, but always laugh together.

So jump in your car and lets race!

You can order the game from Argos, from £39.99!

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

"I Need Someone To Be Able To Show Me My Place In All This."

If you have just come across my page, I’ll let you know here; one of my husband’s childhood film and game is Star Wars! Also that’s where our son’s name comes from, so no wonder my son loves Star Wars too!.

Lego Star Wars, is literally a game version of the films. Allowing us to travel through the Star Wars Saga (Skywalker Saga) exploring the story of; love, adventure, war and space politics!

My son plays, to discover new characters and to unlock them, we have to conquer a variety of quests, throughout the Star Wars Galaxy. His favourite characters for those challenging tasks, being; Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, Palpatine and Darth Vader!

There is always room for those, to crave adventure in the Millennium Falcon.

Punch it Chewie!

You can order the game from the store Argos, from £23.99.

When I think reflect back on our gaming sessions, it brings a smile to my face. The room is filled with so much laughter, concentration and sometimes frustration, but that's gaming for you!

Being together and doing something we all enjoy (whilst learning), is what matters most to me.

Family is everything and gaming shows us that, we can go through many conquests and together, we can conquer them. Teamwork makes the game work!

Let me know in the comments below, if you have any favourite family games. xx
