Faith—what does that really mean?

Faith is having confidence and hope that situations and circumstances will improve, even when you can't see the change or the vision just yet.

I’d like to share a few scriptures that I find comforting when life’s challenges try to cloud my mind. These verses remind me of God's goodness. I hope they bring you strength, peace, and renewed faith.

  1. Favour

Through God’s favour, we are healed and we saved from the things which have broken us and caused us to stumble. God’s favor is a beautiful stepping stone into greater faith.

Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

Psalms 30:7 NKJV

2. Abundance

When we have faith, nothing and no-one can take away the multiple blessings, that God pours down on us. God will supply everything we need, in his perfect timing. We sometimes get disheartened by the things we do not have, instead of being grateful for the things which we can use, to keep us moving forward. With faith, the abundance that God places over our lives, will bless us, more than we could ever ask for.

You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

Psalms 65:11 NKJV

3. Incomparability

Incomparable; Where there is faith, there is an element of incomparability. For God, knows our hearts and minds, and works according to the faith, he knows is stored within each and every one of us. Therefore, we can never compare the anointing, each of us receives, when we our relationships with him are on separate levels. We can never compare the journey one another has to take, because God’s plans and timing are different for us all.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 NKJV

4. Trust

In life, we go through difficult situations, unable to trust easily. But we have someone we can always depend on, someone who will always be there and someone whose promises never fails, then that person is God. Once we learn to trust him; trust him without doubt presence, he will show up for us and make the impossible, possible.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 NKJV

5. Hope

Hope; Such a small word, yet powerful. Having hope, in the centre of our lives, allows our mind to flow with a positive outlook on life, despite what challenges arise. Being hopeful; is being patient in the present, whilst waiting for the things we need to change for the better.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Sometimes we get weary, fearful, and doubtful. That's perfectly fine—it's understandable and part of being human. However, God wants us to know that no matter what happens in life, we shouldn't let our faith slip away. We must hold onto it with all our might and use it to elevate and guide us in all areas of our lives. Though we may feel disheartened, every challenge in life teaches us to rise. With His grace, we will overcome and conquer.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I Timothy 6:12 NKJV

As you go through your day; take flight, by fighting the good fight of faith!
