Prayer is such a beautiful and intimate way to build a relationship with God. It starts with thanking Him for all He has done in our lives, then asking for the changes we need and seeking His guidance and strength in times of need. As long as we hold faith in our hearts, God is always ready to answer our prayers.
Sometimes, we might not know what to say or feel like we're not praying correctly. But rest assured, God sees and hears every heart, every silent whisper, and every cry.
Prayers don't need to be structured—they can even come from scripture. Feel free to reword them so they feel personal to you. Here are 10 Bible verses you can pray with, when you need strength.
1. Philippians Chapter 4, verses 10-13
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
2. Psalm Chapter 18, verses 1-3
I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
3. Isaiah Chapter 41, verses 9-13
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. “Behold, all those who were incensed against you, shall be ashamed and disgraced. They shall be as nothing and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them—Those who contended with you. Those who war against you, shall be as nothing. As a nonexistent thing. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’
4. Psalm Chapter 12, verses 1-4
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel, shall neither slumber nor sleep. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.
5. I Corinthians Chapter 16, verses 13-14
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.

But He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.
7. Isaiah Chapter 40, Verse 29
He gives strength to the weary, And to him who has no might He increases power.
8. Isaiah Chapter 40, Verse 31
But those who wait for the L ord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.
9. Isaiah Chapter 41, Verse 10
‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].
