Children are beautiful blessings and they don’t have to be our own. They could be a cousin, niece, nephew or a friend, because every child matters. It is so important to watch over them, to cover them and to be a positive role model in their lives. Every child deserves to feel loved and despite the challenges this world may bring, they deserve to live life to the fullest.

We are not always in their presence, so we need to pray for God to be there with them. We also need to engage with our children, so that they know how valued, worthy, special and talented they really are.

Every child is a gift from God and it is our responsibility to help them blossom gracefully.

Here are some beautiful scriptures, that we can read to our children, to remind them how amazing they are and that they are never alone in this world, when they put God in the centre of their lives.

‭‭1. Proverbs‬ Chapter ‭22, verse 6‬

Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

‭‭2. Psalms Chapter ‬‭127, verse 3‬

Behold, children are a heritage and gift from the Lord, The fruit of the womb a reward.

3. Proverbs‬ ‭Chapter 23, verse 19‬

Listen, my son, and be wise, And direct your heart in the way [of the Lord].

‭‭4. James Chapter‬ ‭1, verse 17‬

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].

‭‭5. 2 Timothy‬ ‭Chapter 2, verse 1

So you, my son, be strong [constantly strengthened] and empowered in the grace that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus.

‭‭6. Psalms‬ Chapter ‭139, verse 14

I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

7. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭Chapter 5, verse 8

For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light]

8. Matthew‬ ‭Chapter 19, verse 19‬

Honor your father and mother; and love your neighbor as yourself” [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].

9. Ephesians Chapter 6, Verse 4

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

10. Deuteronomy Chapter 11, Verse 19

You shall teach them [diligently] to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths], speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the children of the world. I thank you for their lives and for the gifts, the talents and the purposes in which you have placed within them. Heavenly Father, I pray that your Angels of the North, East, South and West, covers each and every one of your children, from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feets.

May every child; know, feel and understand their worth and value. May they carry respect, love and patience always. Please fill them with wisdom and knowledge, so that they may be prosperous in every area of their lives, in the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
